Just Under 60 Days

59 days to be exact.

i'm panicking like nobody's business. i feel like there's so much to do. Hal borang belum settle. The family's suddenly decided to renovate the house (tukar tiles at the staircase and in my room.. bagi cantik bilik pengantin katanya..). Invitation card has not been finalized. Half of the doorgift untuk guest belum beli.

On top of everything, i have this annual technical assessment coming up next week. This freaks me out coz i've been mainly doing managerial jobs as the boss ordered to put managerial work as priority, technical work on hold. Imagine how bad i'm going to do in the technical assessment? i'm beyond scared!

Wordless Wednesdays: Because i Love Shoes

..And She is Married!

My bestie, Linda is married.

i'm happy for her but at the same time i can't hold back these tears. Terharu sangat. Linda and Butet have been together for like 8 (or was it 9?) years. Berkenal, mengorat, dan menggedik di zaman matrik, survived long distance relationship while she's in UMS Sabah and he's in Tanah Malaya, survived the ups and downs of relationship.. They're like the thick-and-thin couple.

And now they are married.

i'm honored when she said "Okay, ko jadi bridesmaid akuu..". Even more honored when asked to be her maid of honor.

Majlis nikah dia berjalan lancar, alhamdulillah. Dinikahkan oleh ayahanda sendiri, sah jadi wife Butet dengan sekali lafaz. You're the man, derrrr!!

i was determined not to cry sebab saya adalah wanita macho. Tapi bila selesai je akad nikah tu, tetiba mokcik (mama si Linda) menangis and automatically habuk pon masuk mata saya lalu berair mata disitu. Habuk okay, saya tak nanges. Really.

Then there was the majlis bersanding. It was beautiful. The food's delish (good to know coz i hired the very same caterer for my majlis!), the deco's awesome (love the blue-and-white combination and the chiviary chairs for VIP tables), the guest book table was divine, and i love the personalized DIY guest book.

Linda was nervous sebelum nak berjalan masuk gi pelamin tu. "Babe aku cuak. Kaki aku menggigil!". True enough, i saw her gown shaking. i'm nervous myself. The best i could do is say, "Lek babe. Just smile and wave. Smile and wave.." Padahal, aku pon cuak kot!

Dah sampai atas pelamin tu baru okay sket (even though she's still shaking :p). You'd thought we'd behave and act all ayu and manis and sopan for the majlis. Fat chance! Atas pelamin tu berborak, membahan each other, panggil each other giler, me ordering them both "senyum senyum senyum!!", people-spotting, and sempat Linda tanya "Babe diorang semua tengah pandang aku ke?" (-__-).

Bottom line is, BABE, I LOVE YOU SO MUCH AND I'M SO FREAKING HAPPY FOR BOTH OF YOU!! May you both have a blessed marriage, dapat anak-anak yang comel cantik jelita handsome cool awesome macam aku tapi lagi beriman daripada aku, and stay loving sampai ke akhir hayat okeh?

Berjalan Bershopping Berjimba di Jakarta

No need to elaborate more on how Jakarta is THE shopping paradise for brides-to-be. It's a fact.

i'm just happy to brag say that yeayyyy my goals in Jakarta have been successfully achieved. Well, most of it.

My main goals:
-Beli kain for aunties. Successfully done.. Tinggal nak kasi diorang this weekend. Debor lak kalo diorg tak suka.
-Beli flower girl dresses. Tak settle. Yang ada semua saya tak sukaaaa..
-Survey/beli doorgift. 50% done. Beli untuk pompuan je. Takot kalo beli utk lelaki skali kang overweight pulak luggage :p
-Jahit manik+patching baju nikah. Done! Memuaskan hati saya, dan murahhhhh!
-Spend time with Dewi and little Azka. Azka is so adorable! Dewi is glowing!
-Quality spa time with the girls. Done! i love the spa..


Shopping Kain and Tempah Baju di Pasar Mayestik

Upon landing in Soekarno Hatta Airport, our first destination was Pasar Mayestik. It's my first time there and ohoiiiii.. Jadi gila tengok segala kain lace kain cotton cantik-cantik. Nasib la kain baju sanding tengah jahit. Kalo tak memang aku borong dua-tiga kain jahit baju sanding.. So i didn't buy any bridal stuff here, just a few cotton nak buat baju kurung.

Kat area Pasar Mayestik tu ada satu bangunan kayu 2 tingkat. That is the tailor's building. Banyak gilaaaa tailor disitu. That's where i sent my baju nikah and lace (bought at Jakel) untuk buat patching. Hasil tangan dia sangat memuaskan. Baju tu siap dalam masa 2 hari, siap patching, jahit manik and alteration (sebab tailor saya jahit agak besar). Dua hari okay! Are they efficient or what?

 Kedai ni nama dia Ratu Textile tak silap. Banyak gila kain. Uncle ni owner dia i guess. Peramah sangat..

That night, we saw Dewi after so long! Dewi datang hotel kami lepas attend a wedding. That girl is glowing! And Azka is simply adorable. Dia dah kenal orang so tanak sangat orang dukung dia.. Tapi kitorg selambe je.. Huhu

On our last day (Sunday), Dewi bawak kitorang gi spa, Bale Bale Spa. Best gilaaaa spa dia. i had creambath, body scrub, body massage and mandi susu, semua tak sampai RM100.

Doorgift Hunting at Pasar Pagi Mangga Dua, Jakarta

Pagi-pagi Sabtu kitorang gi Pasar Pagi Mangga Dua (PPM2) sebab the locals said kat situ la tempat diorang beli doorgift (souvenir, bak kata mereka). Banyak gila vendor doorgift kat situ. Murah-murah gak. Contoh kalo salt and pepper shaker kat KL paling murah RM4.70, kat PPM2 ni RM2 je, chopsticks tak sampai RM1, ashtray RM1.50, dan banyak lagi la barang murah tak terjangkau dek akalmu. i beli apa? Hehe rahsiaaaa... i beli doorgift untuk guest wanita sahaja. Nak beli untuk lelaki pompuan takot overweight luggage. Apa barangnya? Nanti datang wedding dapat la yeh!

Shopping Kain Sanak Saudara di Tanah Abang

Semua orang tahu kan Tanah Abang adalah syurga segala telekung, kain sulam, jubah, etc.. Syurga wanita lah kiranya. Alhamdulillah dapat beli kain untuk aunty-aunty disini. Sempat jugak sambar kaftan with full beading dengan harga murah disini.

Jakarta the Cheap Food Heaven

Aside from the shopping craze, one thing i love about Jakarta is the crazy cheap delish foods! i am a HUGE Indonesian food fan, i love Minang, Sunda, Java foods.. Makanan ni memang bersepah la kat Jakarta.

Jakarta is the only foreign place yang aku berani makan kat kedai warong tepi jalan. We are enjoying ayam bakar and pecal lele here.

Soto diorang tak macam soto kat Malaysia. It's nasik with kuah santan and daging+belinjao.

FRUIT TEA!!!

My favorite tea in the world. 

Masa kat Bali dulu i can't get enough of it. Kat Jakarta sehari 2-3 botol aku minom.

Ate at Sambara Restaurant on our last night. Makanan Sunda macam kat Bumbu Desa, tapi jauhhhhh lebih murah. Dah la restoran cantik!

That's what i can babble about my Jakarta trip. i had a nice time with the girls. Thanks jugak to Ahmad, Ahya's hubby yang tahan ngan kerenah kitorang. Kitorang shopping masuk kedai sana sini dia ikot je. Sekali pon tak merungut walopon ketara nampak dia bosan. Shim, Ahya and Pip, thanks jugak temankan aku settlekan hal kahwin :)

HIV Test Done!

Life's been hectic lately.

Between Jakarta wedding shopping, work, Penang girlfriends getaway, Linda's Hen Party and the bootcamp, i can barely find time for myself, let alone to blog.

i'm exhausted.

On another note, wedding progress is good so far. Yesterday we took the HIV test!

 This is it!

 Paid and done.

Alhamdulillah, we're AIDS-free!

Yeay boleh kawen!

Took the test at Klinik Kesihatan Setiwangsa (or was it Keramat?). The process was smooth. i just wish there aren't that much forms to be filled. Ada borang survey tabiat hidup lah, borang kehamilan lah, and borang HIV test itself.

The thing that i love about this clinic is that it does not only do HIV test. They take your blood sample and did sugar level, cholestrol level, Thallasemia, blood pressure, and God-knows-what-else tests. The test is complete. i finally got to know our Thallasemia status (i was so scared if we both have Thallasemia.. Alhamdulillah that's not the case). We were given advices on how to live healthy (my sugar level was slightly high, Mr. Chenta's BMI is above average and he's ordered to stop smoking *evil grin*).

So.. HIV test done. Now to proceed with kebenaran kahwin for Mr. Chenta and lepas tu cari kadi for my side.

Tak sabar nak kawen!
