Hope it's not too late to wish you happy new year!

i have two posts labeled as draft that i didn't have the time and strength to finish.

Prior to my last post, there's a huge blogging hiatus for me.

i thought i could blog more when i become a stay at home mom. i had all these things happening in my life that made me go "i need to blog about this!" But haha!

Skang dah masuk keje dah haa.. i no longer wear the Stay at Home Mom crown.

Seriously, being a SAHM is far more time-occupying than being at work. i didn't even read Whatsapp on the spot. Could only reply to messages 1-2 hours (if not days) after receiving them.

Among the 'happening' things in the last 4-5 months:

- It's been 4 5 months since Afif's CI is switched on. Afif can talk now. Okay, takde la talk sangat. Still mainly jargon. His language development is equal to kids age 1-2 year old. But he can say stuff like shushu when he wants milk, kacot, aket, jatoh, and so on.. He'll say 2-word sentences when he is bossing Dhani around. "Adik, no no no!" "Adik, jatuh!" "Adik, sini!" His word count is now somewhere at 200 words so i'm so happy with his progress. Terbaru dia suka repeat ape orang tanye. Haha.

- We celebrated Afif's third birthday in October. Just an intimate celebration setakat potong kek dan makan mihun and lasagna but he was so happy! He played all day with his little uncles and aunties, happily nyanyi lagu birthday, tiup lilin bagai. Everytime i watch the video, it brings me so much happiness. The only thing missing was his daddy who were in Jeddah at that time. A few days later, the spech students and Dr. Basha gave a surprise birthday celebration for Afif and Aisya (she's like 10 years old, wears CI, talking and learning like normal kids already. So insipirational!).

- Dhani si tembam dah start makan solid food. Umur 5.5 bulan aritu aku start bagi. Despite being tembam, he doesn't really eat much until recently. He loves sweet food like apple+cinnamon puree, pumpkin+date puree, banana+avocado mash.. Salmon and fish porridge kekadang je licin mangkok.

- He is 9.5 mont already! He started crawling at 7+ month and now he's busy climbing up and meniti kat kerusi, dinding, etc. Kekadang dia lepas tangan cam nak berdiri dah. Tapi 2-3 saat je tahan pastu terduduk. Haha. Memang takleh tinggal sensorang dah budak ni.

- He tries to imitate sounds and words already. Like mama, bababa, tata.. He also loves doing hand gestures like bye-bye, flying kiss, and tepuk tangan bila org cakap "pok amai-amai" or "pandaiiii!"

- The fact that how  different Afif and Dhani are totally amazes me. I thought they're both boys. How different in personality could they be right? Wrong! Afif didn't crawl, and because of his hearing loss, he didn't talk or say much in his first few months. Dhani crawls all over the place, is noisy (especially when he joins in when Afif buat bising) and so cheeky.

- i survived almost 2 months of LDR! Mr. Chenta got home from Jeddah in early November, safe and sound alhamdulillah. 

i can't thank God enough for the invention of Facetime. Tetiap hari sepanjang Mr. Chenta di Jeddah, ni la keje aku #clingywife

- brought the kids for their first ever visit to the zoo! Tapi cam menyesal sebab Zoo Negara tengah under renovation so banyak attraction tutup. Animal show pon takde. Humpf.

- Dhani's first airplane ride at 7+ months. Masa flight KL-Kuching, Mr. Chenta tak ikut sebab keje. Aku balik dulu ngan SIL and Wan. Ade teman pon, cuak weh bawak 2 kids.i mainly worried if Afif wants to run around or Dhani screams his head off. Alhamdulillah, both were good boys. Afif dah besar, so dia macam dah paham bila explain kita tengah tunggu kapal terbang, beratur nak boarding, duduk, pakai seat belt, kapar terbang nak take off, etc.. Dhani pon behave.

And even though this is Afif's umpteenth airplane ride, it's the first time that he really understands that we're flying. From queuing to get into airplane, putting the seat belt on, no standing/walking/messing around, sampai la landing, he understands and really listened.

- We had Dhani's aqiqah at PIL's place in Kuching. Takde la pelamin, buaian berendoi bagai. A simple ceremony berzanji, baca doa and makan-makan afterwards. It's so good to see Babah's side of the family.

- My SIL is back for good from UK. So rasa seronok la macam ada kawan and helping hands with the kids at home.

- In the last few months of unpaid leave, i sort of have a small business selling choc chip cookies. Alhamdulillah every week ade je tempahan. Setakat kawan n sedara mara order. Ade kedai bakery supply ni soh aku buat doorgift tp tak brani amek. Nak siapkan order tak banyak ni pon rase semputtt sangat apatah lagi nak buat doorgift kawen. Takpe lah. Belom ke situ rezeki aku. Tak ready lagi.

- in December, my SIL and i registered our very first company. For now we're focusing on selling plus size clothes. We started small, modal pon tak besar. Alhamdulillah the response for our first batch is good. Almost all the clothes were sold out. Alhamdulillah. Ni kitorang baru launch second batch. Tapi second batch ni slow sikit. It's okay, we learn along the way.

- i got an iPhone 6S from Mr. Chenta and a Coach handbag from my MIL for my birthday! Rezeki sangat. Any woman would be happy with these pressies kannn..

- Sepanjang cuti jugak attend 3 workshop berkaitan hearing and speech development. The first one was a 2-day workshop by Cochlear and HUKM. Gigih angkut Dhani tapi second day aku ponteng haha. Pastu workshop by Cochlear with guest audiologist and SLP, the great Prof. Dr. jane Madell, and the last one workshop by Hear Me and Dr. Basha. i learn a lot from these 3 workshops on how to better help Afif on his speech and language progress.

- went for a picnic at Ulu Yam with my Ucu and her family. Seronok la Afif mandi sungai. Dhani meragam je sebab takmo orang pastu cam rimas agaknya berkhemah tengah panas. Pastu paling takleh lupa, tengah hari tetiba hujan lebat. hahaha. Kelam kabut weh dengan anak kecik bagai.

- we went to Flip Out, a trampoline park at Sg. Buluh (dekat ngan Uptown Mutiara Damansara je sebenarnya). Afif la paling sakan melompat. Aku pon sama. laki aku jaga Dhani dok tepi. Haha. Serious best weh lompat melompat. Rasa carefree. Plus i heard the instructor said 10 minutes of trampoline-jumping equals to 30 minutes of jogging. Sakan la kan.

- Afif started playschool like i blogged before. Still can't believe my boy's in school. This morning i sent him to school and stayed a bit to watch him from the teacher's office's huge window. Teacher dok ajak berjoget beramai-ramai, dia pi buat hal dia main slide *emoticon smiley nanges di sini*. Teacher said he has a best friend named Isyraf. asyik berkepit je depa. haha. Ko paham takkk tetiba my baby dah ada best friend?

- i am now back to work. It feels a bit bizarre. From waking up with my babies at 10am to rushing to get ready and to get Afif ready by 8am. From milk-stained tank tops to work clothes. From the sound of screaming/laughing toddler and baby to the tapping of keyboards and meetings.

- ...and not to mention that i now am no longer Petronas Holding staff. i'm a Petronas Carigali staff. Yea, they're like sisters company but hello new office, new bosses, new colleagues, new environment, new role!

- you have probably read in Facebook yang orang kecoh-kecoh pasal harga minyak jatuh, that oil & gas industry is in trouble, that Petronas is in bigger trouble.. It's true that oil price is dangerously low, the economy is badly affected. But rumors about Petronas maintains just rumors. Truthfully, aku risau la jugak kan. Dah la baru nak merasa balik gaji hasil titik peluh sendiri pastu dengar pasal buang keje la, potong gaji la VSS la.. and worse thing is these rumors are from people/news OUTSIDE of Petronas. Kelakar kan? i'm gonna put my faith in Allah and my employer. i believe Petronas takkan naya staff dia dan negara.

Overwhelmed No More

ACD

Yeahooo!

Last Friday was a huge relief for me. I had just went to my annual technical assessment. We call it ACD. This year, it's suppose to be a big deal for me because i missed ACD two years in a row. Sekali sebab terberanak awal, sekali sebab unpaid leave jaga Afif. 

Bila ko dah dua tahun miss assessment, memang adalah sangat efek promotion. Kekawan seperjuangan dah naik gred, aku masih di sini. i kept telling myself that it's okay. Aku tak naik-naik pon bukan sebab aku bongok sangat. Sebab timing. Tapi kadang cam ada perasaan "whoaaa.. i'm so behind". Lagi satu workscope aku skang adalah acting manager, tapi gaji kuli. Agak stress di situ kan.. 

Anyway, like i said this ACD is supposed to be a huge deal because of this cepat-la-tutup-gap-nak-promotion. Previously memang aku takkan boleh tido 2 weeks before (sebab anxious) and study macam student. But this time around, with my ever growing tummy and Afif to look after, aku memang tak study langsung kat umah. Kat opis memang tak la sebab busy meeting sana sini orang demand itu ini. Dapat la tengok2 notes 2 hari sebelum assessment.

With that 30% effort and preparation, aku pon gi la ACD. Alhamdulillah assessors were very helpful. Aku bajet sebab aku bongok sejam je boleh settle. Tapi end up 2 jam lebih gak la dalam tu. i did my best and the rest is up to Him. But i don't see any promotion in the near future la. Bahaha..

Pregnancy

Alhamdulillah my pregnancy is progressing well. Minggu ni masuk minggu ke-35 ZOMG! To date i have gained almost 14kgs. i'm at the heaviest i've been all my life but it's okay somehow. Last 2 weeks baby dah 2kg beratnya. Esok checkup tatau la berapa. Dr. Fidak kata jaga jangan baby lebih 3kilo kalo nak senang VBAC. Camne kekdahnya tuuu?

Kaki aku dah start sembab ye.. Baru prasan last 2 nights sebab rasa ketat bila lipat-lipat jari kaki. Bahaha. As usual, aku freak out and demanded at my husband "Ni sembab kannn? Bukan gemok kannn??" Bless him for being as patient as ever and cakap "Ko tak gemok.. Ngandong biasa la cenggini.." Baahaha

34 weeks.

Sakit pinggang or sakit belakang dah takde skang. It was bad in second trimester so bersyukur la dah tak sakit despite memberat dengan jayanya. Cuma aku memang penat la weh after work. Pastu rasa pressure celah kangkang ni haa. Dulu mase memula start sakit ni aku ingatkn nak branak premie dah sebab dulu masa ngan Afif tak pernah sakit celah kangkang ni. Nasib baik takde pape. Mintak Cik Ros datang urut, baru lega pastu. That was a month ago. Skang sakit balik.

Skang aku stress sebabnya most of my pre-pregnancy clothes dah start tak muat. Maxi dresses and loose cardigan je bole pakai comfortably. Blouses that were loose are starting to look like sarung nangka on me. Belly Belt can't help me fit into my jeans anymore *nanges* Takkan la aku nak beli baju besar/maternity plak. Lagi sebulan (or less) je pon nak meletop. If you see me looking shabby, harap paham.

Cravings

Suka benda manis adalah masih sampai skang. Tapi okay la aku control. Tak la hentam keromo je. Kalo dulu lapa tengah malam aku makan cookies, now i eat yogurt or biskut kering cicah susu instead. Because i don't wanna miss out on cookies and ice creams, sampai skang ye aku makan brown rice to compensate. i think i'm gonna keep eating brown rice lepas branak pon. Healthy katanya plus aku tak rasa pon beza rasa dengan nasik biasa.

Haritu ade kawan haplod gamba laksa Sarawak dengan udang galah. Ya Allah teringinnya. Ajak laki aku balik Kuching tapi smpai la ni tak sempat sebab ACD la, dia keje la. Ni dah lebih 34weeks memang takleh la naik belon. My MIL, the best MIL, kirimkan kat aku udang galah. Instead of laksa Sarawak, dapat la makan udang asam masak Sarawak. Wan masakkan. Bahaha.. Jadi lah nak hilangkan ngidam.

Post-ACD, Pre-Beranak Period

So now i'm in this post-ACD, pre-beranak period. Ini adalah masa di mana aku nak handover and delegate kerja ke colleagues, settlekan kemas rumah and make room for baby #2's clothes, manjakan Afif puas-puas and steal time to be with my husband before 3 becomes 4. Harap lah sempat buat semua. Harap baby tak buat surprise kuar awal sangat cam Afif haritu. Sabar ye Adik! Kasi Mama basuh and susun baju awak and bawak Abang jenjalan nanti baru awak keluar ye.

Okay tu je bebelan kali ni.

Slow

Boleh tak aku nak kata aku stress dengan keje?

Haih.

Tahun baru ni, opis baru ada re-org. New boss. New task. New experience.

Tapi ntah la. Aku rasa macam lagi kurang keje. Aku harapkan dapat technical work seperti buat static model ke, buat well proposal ke. Tapi setakat almost 2 bulan yang aku dah start keje ni, keje aku adalah kumpul data, review report orang, compare itu ini.

Haih.

Stress lah weh.

p/s: Manusia. Keje banyak, komplen. Keje sikit, komplen. Keje susah, komplen. Keje senang, komplen.

Update: lepas je aku tulis post ni, aku gi jumpe boss, propose in-house study. And she said yes! Yayyy so ade la jugak technical job pasni. Wish me luck!

It's a Dark Day

..because i accidentally left my phone at home!

*nanges*

i'm the type of person who clutches to her phone for dear life. No matter how busy with work i am, i check my phone every 3 5 10 minutes. Now it's been more than 3 hours without twitter and instagram (two social media that i'm addicted to) and whatsapps from my dear husband (which i'm on whatsapp on everyday oh God i miss him so) and also the occasional Facebook and Candy Crush.

Dah la nak dekat Raya ni opis sunyi ko hengat aku ada mood buat kerja? This is the time when i need my dear phone the most.

Thank God the office has not (yet) blocked Blogger.

Partied My Way Out of Singledom!

i have AMAZING girlfriends.

They threw not one, not two, but THREE amazing surprises for me!

The Hen Party

The first one was last month. The DGAs threw a Hen Party for three brides; Aslinda, myself and Pijot! The party was SUPER AWESOME. They kidnapped us after work, brought us to RedBox Sogo. At first i thought it was a normal get-together. You know, karaoke, chit chat, makan-makan..

They proved me wrong!

We came in to a gorgeous and glam-ly decorated room! All these DIY deco was on the wall, balloons everywhere, and all fancy things.. The girls were all wearing bunny ears, they are so CUTE! Lepas menjerit dan tergamam dan menjadi jakun, we were forced to make a speech.

Then there were games! OMG, the games..

First game was the Post-It Note Game. Each and everyone of the girls (excluding the brides) wrote their most memorable moment with the bride on a piece of paper. The host (in our case, Fina) read the chosen papers and we, the brides, have to guess who wrote it. My most memorable one of this is from Pip. It wrote, "Kita pernah bogel sama-sama. Tapi aku tak nampak ko punya and ko tak nampak aku punya.". Homaigodddd scandalous okeh! Aku mane lah berbogel ngan sesiapa. Haruslah terjerit disitu. Haruslah tak dapat teka jugak. Rupanya that was the time when we went to Bale Bale Spa in Jakarta. Tak lah bogel, pakai kain batik hokay! (-_-)

The second game was Design the Wedding Dress. We were divided into 3 teams for the three brides. Each of the teams have to use rolls of tissue paper to make wedding dresses and dress the brides. Tak cukup dengan itu, lepas berbalut dengan tisu, diorang paksa kitorang keluar bilik and catwalk along the corridor and buffet area and let the staffs of RedBox choose the winner. i looked like Lady Gaga. Sumpah malu!!

Selesai catwalk, kami berkemas-kemas, karaoke for another 30 minutes, and rushed home. That was the greatest party ever threwn for me. So much effort was put. i can't thank the girls enough :')

Surprise Birthday Lunch

This one was on Monday. i sorta knew something was up when i went to Fina's cubicle. She was panicking and menggelupur, cepat-cepat tutup PC and my name was the subject of her email. And then after tapau-ing lunch, i saw Amal rushing into the office with a cake box. And pantry yang selalunya kosong tiba-tiba penuh masa aku tengah makan. Muahahaha. 

Despite all these, i was crazy surprised when Amal came with a cake and everybody sang a birthday song. ALOUD. In the office. It was so sweet. We ate cakes and laugh and they wished me happy birthday in advance and happy getting married. My colleagues are seriously the best.

Surprise Birthday Dinner

On Tuesday, my last working day of the year, Linda ajak cari tudung kat Arianni Wangsa Maju. As i need to find tudung for nikah as well, we both went after work. Lepas shopping, dia beriya-iya lah ajak makan Mac n' Cheese at TGIF. Sampai kat TGIF, she led me to a table and Lina and Ahya were already there! We ordered and had a nice talk. As i looked at these three girls, i realized that they're married. And OMG, i'm gonna join them this weekend! OMG! They gave me advice on marriage, on the whole wedding preparations.. It's just so good. Sitting there talking. 

i thought that was it. Then the TGIF staffs came singing the birthday song and other very long song, demanded me to stand up and give a speech and sing! Berpeluh ketiak aku, suddenly being the center of attention. Seriously, these girls are the best.

i've had a rough past. My life was far from perfect, and like any other human beings, i have my bad moments. But i'm blessed with good friends who make me feel loved and cherished and remind me the world is still a good place. The people you choose to be in your life makes all the difference. i'm glad i have these people as friends.

Kepada sayang-sayang ku, terima kasih untuk segalanya. Doakan yang terbaik untuk majlis pernikahan dan persandingan saya. You all are the best!

Cervical Cancer Vaccine

Tadi masa tengah godek-godek wallet, terjumpa resit cervical cancer vaccination. i took the vaccination package a few months ago. Alhamdulillah dah habis amek all three dosage of the vaccine. Tiba-tiba rasa nak membebel pasal Cervical Cancer or kanser pangkal rahim dalam bahasa Melayu nya. i hope you girls who are reading this post will be influenced to take this vaccine. It could help save your life. InsyaAllah.

So here goes:

Did you know that cervical cancer is second to breast cancer in causing cancer deaths in women worldwide and is the 2nd most common cancer in Malaysian Women? 

Did you know that cervical cancer is the 5^th most common cancer in women worldwide with approximately 471,000 new cases diagnosed each year?

Did you know that a woman dies of cervical cancer approximately every 2 minute?

So what is Cervical Cancer?

Cervical cancer is a cancer that starts in the cervix, the lower part of the uterus (womb) that opens at the top of the vagina and it's mostly caused by sexually transmitted human papillomavirus (HPV). Over time, the cervical cancer can invade more deeply into the cervix and nearby tissues.The cancer cells can spread by breaking away from the original (primary) tumor. They enter blood vessels or lymph vessels, which branch into all the tissues of the body. The cancer cells may attach to other tissues and grow to form new tumors that may damage those tissues.

It is usually a slow-growing cancer that may not have symptoms but can be found with regular Pap tests (a procedure in which cells are scraped from the cervix and looked at under a microscope).

You are at a greater risk of having cervical cancer if you:

• Started having sex at an early age

• Have multiple sexual partners

• Have not undergo Pap smears

• Have sexual partners who have multiple partners or who participate in high-risk sexual activities

• Are a woman whose mother took the drug DES (diethylstilbestrol) during pregnancy in the early 1960s to prevent miscarriage

• Are a smoker

• Have many children

• Have weakened immune system

Now i know most of you thought "Aku belum kawen, so takde risk pon nak dapat kanser servik ni.." or "i'm a virgin, impossible of me getting infected by HPV and get cervical cancer". i know, because i once thought of the same thing. But married or single, virgin or not, it is better to have ourselves vaccinated. Because sooner or later you are gonna get married, you are gonna have sex. If you are vaccinated, you'll have one less thing to worry about. Think of this vaccine as an insurance. Bak kate orang Melayu, sediakan payung sebelum hujan.

I'm sure many of you have heard that the Malaysian government has started given cervical cancer vaccinations for all 13-year-old girls starting last year. This is a good measure taken by the government to help reduce the risk of Malaysian being infected by this disease. Tapi masalahnya, wanita-wanita yang berumur 14 tahun ke atas tahun lepas are not given this vaccine by the government. We have to take our own initiative to get vaccinated.

i'm lucky because The Company had held a Health Day in the office last year and a woman health clinic came and gave us a long, long lecture about cervical cancer. The talk was scary okay! Diorang tunjuk macam-macam gambar pasal cervical cancer ni. Paling sedih bila diorang cakap "Bayangkan.. You ada anak.. Kecik-kecik lagi. Tapi umur you tak panjang sebab ada kanser serviks ni. Tak kesian ke anak-anak you takde mak?" Yes, this vaccine is expensive (around RM600-RM750 in Malaysia). Tapi apalah sangat RM600 untuk kesihatan sendiri kan? Baik amek vaksin daripada beli handbag/sunglasses/shoes/jewelries/pegi holiday. Syukur jugak we were offered little discount (a pay-twice installment package) by the women's clinic so my colleagues and i took this opportunity to get vaccinated.

Now i'm not saying that this vaccine is a warranty for a cervical cancer-less life. No one can guarantee that. But it HELPS to lower the risk of us being infected by the HPV.

 There are two cervical cancer vaccine; Cervarix and Gardasil. Cervarix is the one we were vaccinated with.

Ini lah rupa saya mase kene cucuk. Selekeh jugak laaa. Agak sakit sebab jarum dia agak besar. Lepas kene cucuk tu tangan memang akan lenguh la sehari dua.

So women! Go to your nearest clinic to enquire about this vaccine today. Some clinics do have this vaccine but most woman health clinics offer a package on this. Jangan malu bertanya.
